IMPACT INVESTING Q3 2023 | Page 7

Solar panels are becoming an increasingly popular way for homeowners to reduce electricity costs and carbon emissions. However, while solar panels can help you save money on energy costs in the long run, it’s important to take into account the overall upfront investment in solar panels.

With the average cost of solar panels ranging anywhere from $4,500 to $36,000, plus installation fees and future maintenance costs, here are factors to consider when determining if solar panels are right for your home:

Tesla is aiming to secure approximately $100 million in federal funding from the US government to establish a groundbreaking electric semi-truck charging infrastructure spanning from the southern Texas border to northern California. Tesla intends to build nine charging stations, each featuring eight 750-kilowatt chargers for Tesla Semi vehicles and four for trucks produced by competitors.

This project, if successful, would be a pioneering charging network in the United States, facilitating long-haul electrified trucking between Texas and California, as well as regional-haul trucking within Texas, Arizona, and California. Tesla is seeking support from Texas officials and hopes to qualify for federal grants from a bipartisan infrastructure program designed to modernize transit systems. While the project's feasibility without a grant remains uncertain, it holds the potential to significantly impact the commercial trucking sector and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
