Upcoming SEC Climate Rule:
Start Preparing Now
Sustainability experts are saying: ‘Start preparing now’ for SEC climate rule, other disclosure regulations
Despite the SEC rule’s temporary stay, sustainability experts said companies should not wait for the court’s ruling to begin preparing for compliance. This rule will require detailed climate-related disclosures in financial reports and is expected to be phased in starting in 2026. Companies are encouraged to align their reporting with existing frameworks, such as the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) to streamline compliance and meet investor demands for transparency. >
